Riesling is an old grape that comes from the steep hillside slopes of the Rhine and Mosel Rivers of Germany. It is the wine that put Washington on the map, as this grape finds incredible success in the hills of Yakima Valley.
This is our second Riesling we have produced, and again we selected grapes from the Crawford family's lower elevation field, which has older vines known for their ripe sugars, with rich apricot and peach flavors. From these outrageously wonderful grapes we have crafted a traditional favorite that bring spring freshness to any meal or event:
Traditional Cuvée Riesling—this version is finished with a touch of sweetness, which brings forth the very ripe fruit flavors of this grape: you will find peach, apricot and honey. Try it as an after dinner refresher, served with ripe fruit, mild cheese or baklava. Served chilled, it would be a great starter before your holiday meal.
If you like these wines, we suggest that you give ours a try, as they are great examples of this fine grape.
